Edwards. 1 term. No experience. A kid. Dick was the Sec Def 2 decades ago. I look forward to such a lopsided debate.
Considering that John Edwards is one of the top litigation attorneys of our time, I would not be so quick to judge his lack of experience as something that will necessarily translate into a "lopsided debate" in favor of Dick Cheney. Just as the media so eagerly underestimated Bush in the Bush-Gore debates, the same will likely happen with Edwards against Cheney. Bush "won" those debates with Al Gore by merely showing up and not sounding like a complete buffoon--not because he actually debated the issues more articulately or intelligently than Al Gore. With John Edwards, he has the charisma and engaging charm that will carry the day. In addition, Edwards is an extremely quick study. My bet is that he will mop the floor with Cheney, but he'll do it in such a way that people will not be "turned off" by it. What I really look forward to seeing is Dick Cheney try to explain away all the millions in deferred compensation that he continues to draw from Halliburton while making sure that Halliburton gets those multi-billion-dollar, no-bid contracts in Iraq. I wonder if the television censor will have to go into overdrive to bleep out those F-bombs that Cheney may unleash.
